Abbie Freeman

I’m Abbie, a general psychologist who is endorsed with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. I have worked across private practice, hospital, community and school settings and have experience providing evidence-based
therapies with children, adolescents and adults.

My Therapeutic Approach

I utilise a person-centred, neuro-affirming and trauma-informed approach incorporating a number of evidence based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) principles, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy
and somatic experiencing techniques.

Am I a fit for you?

I believe the client-therapist relationship is fundamental for successful therapy. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space, and utilising this in helping clients overcome challenges, build emotional resilience and enhance self-awareness. I am particularly interested in understanding how early life experiences and relationships impact on present difficulties/concerns.

  • Anxiety and related disorders
  • Mood disorders
  • Borderline personality disorder
  • Trauma and complex-trauma
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
