Clinical Psychologist Gold Coast

Treatment and Approach

Therapeutic Approaches:

We use evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to your specific needs. Our methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and more.

Treatment Process:

Our treatment process begins with an initial consultation to understand your concerns and goals. We then develop a personalized treatment plan, which may include regular therapy sessions, coping strategies, and progress evaluations to ensure effective outcomes.

Individualized Treatment Plans:

Recognizing that every individual is unique, we customize our treatment plans to address your specific challenges and objectives. Our holistic approach ensures comprehensive care tailored to your needs. We avoid manualized or “cookie-cutter” therapy, ensuring personalized care that addresses individual differences in experience, context, and life.

Treatment Process:

Therapy begins with an initial assessment or intake, which usually takes one or two sessions and may involve psychometric measures and a clinical interview. During this process, we develop an understanding of your challenges, environment, stressors, and resources. Treatment goals are negotiated to ensure that therapy interventions address your concerns and priorities. Sessions are initially more frequent to build momentum, then spaced at greater intervals over time. Relapse prevention is conducted towards the end of therapy to help maintain improvements without the need for ongoing psychological care.

Practical Considerations

Fees and Insurance:

We offer competitive rates for our services and accept various insurance plans. Please contact us to discuss fees and verify if Medicare, NDIS or your health insurance covers our services.

Our fees are available on the fee page of our website. Medicare provides rebates for up to 10 sessions per year under the Better Access provisions. Private health funds vary in terms of rebates available; please check with your fund for details. NDIS clients’ funding caps are determined by their individual plans. For third-party funded services, we bill third parties directly.

Availability and Office Hours:

Our clinic is open Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM, with flexible appointment times to accommodate your schedule.

  • Kelly and Leia: 7 AM to the afternoon
  • Laura and Abbie: Lunchtime to early evening

Telehealth and Online Sessions:

Success and Outcomes

Success and Outcomes

Our clinical psychologists have a strong track record of success in treating a variety of conditions. We focus on measurable improvements and long-term well-being. As a result, our clinical psychologists are highly sought after, often with full bookings and some wait-times. Our general psychologists are excellent options for those unable to wait for an appointment with a clinical psychologist.

The duration of therapy varies based on individual needs and goals. During your initial consultation, we will provide an estimated timeline tailored to your specific situation.

Our clinic has been designed with privacy in mind, with significant attention paid to sound. As our clinicians work with a lot of people with sensory issues, our clinic rooms minimise artificial lighting and have been designed to feel warm and inviting.

We adhere to the APS code of ethics and Australian privacy legislation. Your information is handled with the utmost sensitivity and confidentiality. For more details, see our privacy policy.

While we do not provide crisis care, we actively plan with clients on how to manage crisis situations. For immediate support, please contact:

Our therapy style is compassionate, supportive, and client-centered. We strive to create a comfortable and trusting environment where you feel heard and understood.

Yes, we offer initial consultations. Contact our admin team by phone, email, the contact form, or the online chat to schedule an appointment. Due to wait times for clinical psychologists, we typically book multiple sessions to ensure continuity. If you feel your psychologist is not a good fit, you can switch to another clinician or cancel further bookings.
