At Redman Gall Psychologists we use the scientifically proven KONTAKT method of social skills training for children and adolescents with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). This program is based on cognitive behavioural therapy. It has been shown to be highly effective in improving language and communication skills and social and emotional abilities.
The KONTAKT method is a therapeutic approach focusing on social skills while understanding the emotional experiences and underlying feelings of school-age kids on the autism spectrum.

KONTAKT-based group autism social skills therapy program is based on cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) principles.
This approach integrates multiple areas, such as social skills, social cognition, social awareness, and problem-solving, providing a comprehensive program to support development.
The KONTAKT method provides individualised support by tailoring it to each participant’s unique needs and goals.
Each group, consisting of 4-8 participants and two trainers, ensures personalised attention and support for every child.
Our KONTAKT-based group therapy program consists of 16 sessions, each lasting for an hour and 30 minutes.
These sessions are conducted over two school terms.
Each session includes a mission to improve a range of social skills including: social interaction and communication skills, social competence, problem-solving abilities, understanding of social roles, and self-confidence.
At Redman Gall Psychologists, we understand the crucial role of parents in supporting their children’s development.
That’s why we encourage parental involvement in the KONTAKT program, working together to help children and teens on the autism spectrum reach their full potential. Parents are involved directly in a number of sessions and help their kids work through homework ‘missions’ in between group sessions.
If you want to register your child in our KONTAKT-based group therapy program, please call Redman Gall Psychologists to book an initial screening appointment or complete the form and we shall get back to you.
Screening helps us understand whether the KONTAKT group is a good fit for you and your child.
We’re excited to help your child develop the skills they need to thrive.
