PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST – IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY

I am Nienke, a Provisional Psychologist with working experience in multiple settings such as the clinical hospital setting, youth care, refugee work and private practice.

My objective is to create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment. With a collaborative approach and focus on strengths, I support my clients on their path of coping with difficulties and creating a life consistent with their values, hopes and dreams.

Despite having working experience in various mental health issues, I have a particular interest in working with adolescents and (young) adults who suffer from Trauma (such as PTSD). Also, I am well trained in helping both children and adults with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I graduated and I am registered as a psychologist in Europe. I am currently in the process of meeting Australian requirements to become fully registered. Besides therapy sessions in English, I can also offer sessions in Dutch.

My Therapeutic Approach

I use a variety of evidence-based interventions. I’m predominantly trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), in addition to the trauma-focused treatment EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Schema Therapy and Mindfulness. I’m passionate about flexibly implementing interventions from different approaches to find the right fit for you.

Am I a fit for you?

The right fit is fundamental for a successful therapy. I am aware that it can be quite exciting to go to a psychologist, so it’s very important that you feel a good connection with this person. What do you find with me? I consider myself to be very open, honest and transparent both as a therapist and as a person. I am committed to creating a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental space where you feel heard and understood. Additionally, I work collaboratively with my clients and continually check in to ensure that both the fit with me and the therapy itself feel good for you.
